Drive to Colorado

Drive to Colorado

Last Friday, my friends and made the 15 hour drive from Houston to Colorado. We are staying in a ski lodge in Avon for the week. Before getting to our hotel in Avon, we stopped in Denver to eat brunch and explore the area. We ate at Denny's and then walked around Downtown Denver. I got to take a lot of photos and wanted to share them with y'all. So enjoy! :)

It's been awhile...

It's been awhile...

Life has been pretty hectic these last few months... Since I last posted on this site I've finished another semester of college, stopped working with The Cougar, started two of my summer classes, been to California, finished one of my summer classes, the two magazines I took photos for released, started a third summer class, and now I'm sitting here drinking lemonade at midnight and reflecting on life in general.

Photo Round Up | Memphis Road Trip

Photo Round Up | Memphis Road Trip

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, so anytime my friends want to road trip, I'm always up for it. In my last post, I mentioned our road trip to Memphis and reviewed a cute diner called The Arcade Restaurant. In this post, I want to show you some of the photos I took while we walked around the city. I got some really cool shots, and pretty much fell in love with downtown Memphis.

Arcade Restaurant | Memphis Road Trip

Arcade Restaurant | Memphis Road Trip

If you know me at all, you know that I frequently go on road trips. Well recently, my friends and I decided to take a road trip to Memphis, Tennessee for the day during Spring Break. Is that nuts? Probably. Did we have fun? YES.

We left Monday night/Tuesday morning around midnight and it took us about ten hours to get there. The first stop was a slightly sketchy truck stop in West Memphis. Turns out West Memphis isn't even in Tennessee, lol. After changing and freshening up, we drove to the Arcade, which is a really cool diner style restaurant.

Get the most from your Micellar Water

Get the most from your Micellar Water

In today's post, I'm going to talk about something I've only recently began using. I was in the market for a new eye makeup remover and had heard good things about it, so I decided to bite the bullet and pick up a bottle of Micellar Water from my local drug store. It's honestly changed my skincare routine, so I wanted to share some tips and tricks that I have found to help you get the most of this product.

2016 Goals | A Little Update

2016 Goals | A Little Update

When I think of the new year, I automatically think of making resolutions and starting over. In the past couple of years, I've written down a list of resolutions, but they've never panned out. I think we put so much hype on January 1st and we get excited to make these life changes, but we get overwhelmed and quit by June. At least, that's how it always go for me.

Packers Birthday Cake | New Favorite Recipe

Hey y'all! I'm back! This semester has been super busy, but I'm almost done with all of my classes! For today's post I'm going to be sharing a recipe that I found for a lovely white cake. It's honestly my new favorite birthday cake recipe.

I've never made a cake completely from scratch and when my sister asked if I could make one for my brother, I wanted to find a really good recipe that hopefully everyone would enjoy.

I saw this over on Two Bleached Blondes and thought it would be a good idea to do as well. I've been attempting to find myself and who I want to be/what I want to do in life (especially after I graduate) and thought this would be a good way to document it and to also to keep on track. So let's get started, shall we? :)

Body Image and Insecurities | Advice with B

Body Image and Insecurities | Advice with B

I've struggled with my body image and insecurities for as long as I can remember. I don't really ever remember a time where I was comfortable in my own skin. It's definitely gotten better as I've grown up, but I still struggle on a daily basis with my insecurities.

It's not easy growing up in this society. You are constantly bombarded with images of women that you are told have the ideal body and with advertisements for products that will "help you look younger, slimmer, and more beautiful". That's all a load of BS. There is no ideal body, we all come in different shapes and sizes and we are all so beautiful. And the products that are advertised will not make you more beautiful, it's what's on the inside that matters.

New Series?! | Advice with B

New Series?! | Advice with B

I'm currently writing this on the plane back to Texas from my month-long London trip. I just finished reading Louis Pentland's (aka Sprinkle of Glitter) book and felt inspired. I don't know if this will ever make it to the Internet (it did!) or even turn into anything, but I just felt like writing my thoughts out.

(P.S. This post was written over a month ago in August)

I'm back with another Happy Friday! These are really fun to do and help me stay happy and focus on the good things in my life, rather than focus on the bad parts.

So these last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic, but really awesome as well. First things first...

Isle of Skye, Scotland | Throwback Thursday

I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a throwback post, but I finally got the photos from our Scotland trip last summer from my dad and wanted to share them with everyone. There were so many good photos taken, but I decided to showcase the photos that had my best friends and I in them, as those are some of my favorites.

Happy Friday | 5 Good Things

Happy Friday | 5 Good Things

Hello everyone! I'm back! I've been pretty absent from my blog, but I felt really down and uninspired. I've also been traveling quite a bit this summer and just haven't had time to sit and write anything. I've been brainstorming different ideas and I think I finally have found some things that I'm incredibly excited to begin.

I've decided to begin a weekly series, called Happy Fridays, where I write about a quote I really like or 5 good things that have happened to me that week.

Re-routes, Harry Styles, and NYC?! | Day 3 of Maine Trip

Re-routes, Harry Styles, and NYC?! | Day 3 of Maine Trip

I'm going to start this post off in the wee hours of the morning. From Nashville onto DC, we didn't get a hotel for the night, so we were just driving straight through.

It was probably around 3am or so, when we decided to reroute and go straight to NYC instead. The only thing we really wanted to do in DC was see the Mall and the White House. Another reason why we rerouted was because I got a notification from some blogs I follow that Harry Styles was in NYC at that very moment. So we decided to head there and hopefully see if we could spot him. By the time we got to NYC, he was already getting on a plane to Brussels, where One Direction is playing a show.

CMA Music Festival | Day 2 of Maine Trip

CMA Music Festival | Day 2 of Maine Trip

Today started off really well. We got a really good nights sleep. The hotel that we stayed at Mufreesboro had really comfortable beds. We wanted to wake up around 8 to get the free breakfast that was offered, but Morgan and I overslept. Haley woke up around 8:50am and rushed to go grab us some, which was really sweet of her.

After eating and getting ready, we checked out of the hotel and were on our way to Nashville. It was only 30 minutes away, so it was a short drive.

Once we got to Nashville, we realized that there was a lot more people than there should've been on a weekday. Turns out that we stumbled upon the CMA Music Festival. I don't know how we missed that in our research, but it was a welcome surprise.
